Cooper, my son, and I brought in the rest of the firewood for the shop today. Hopefully, it will be enough for winter. I still have one stack outside for either the house or the shop.

I added a photo of my house and you can see Sandy's head in the foreground. She is a golden retriever about 7 years old, but new to me. An older couple in town sold their house and moved into an apartment that wouldn't allow dogs, so I am the new foster parent.

Red stoneware fired to cone 6

These look better in person--I will be making more pieces this week with the white stoneware, including some small jars, oval vases, and some small bowls.

These came out of my last firing and I am very pleased with the results. I had been looking for a glaze similar to my "Derby" glaze (what you see here on the red stoneware) that worked on white stoneware. I tried varying the glaze, but nothing worked to my satisfaction, so I tried switching clay bodies. I will post some pictures of new work with this clay and glaze after my next firing.

Just got back from town and saw a Grey Owl on the wires. I would have posted a photo, but it had flown off by the time I returned.
